If you book 8 weeks or more before arrival, a 50% deposit secures your dates, with the balance due 8 weeks before you arrive. If you book within 8 weeks of arrival, the full amount is due at the time of booking. A refundable damage deposit of R2,000 and a cleaning fee of R2,900 are payable with the balance.

Yes. The main house can be booked on its own for up to 8 guests, at a lower rate. Whatever you book, the whole property is yours, and you'll never share it with another group.

Up to 14 guests, in seven bedrooms with five bathrooms.

The main house has a Oceanpearl Bedroom with a queen bed and en suite shower, a second queen bedroom, and two interconnected loft rooms upstairs with twin beds (one pair can be pushed together as a double). Three private cottages open onto the courtyard, each with its own entrance, queen bed and en suite. All beds are made up with premium linen and plush duvets.

The stairs to the loft bedrooms are steep, so please take care, especially with little ones.

Just your clothes, food and beachwear. Bed linen, bath towels, extra blankets, bathroom essentials, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry detergent and firewood are all ready for you.

Yes, beds are made up and bath towels are provided, along with an extra set of blankets in every room.

Yes. There's a SMEG oven with gas hob, large fridge, dual wine fridges, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster, with all the pots, pans, serving dishes, braai tools and children's tableware you'll need. The Nespresso machine comes with a starter supply of pods, plus tea, coffee and sugar to get you started.

Yes, a full laundry set-up in the games room building: washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board, clothes horse, pegs and washing detergent. There's also a washing line beside the braai area.

Yes. Uncapped wifi throughout, and all the TVs are smart TVs with DStv and Netflix. There's a Bluetooth sound system in the main house.

A back-up power supply keeps the main wifi router running for about two hours of loadshedding.

Yes, there are several spaces around the property that work well as informal workspaces, with reliable wifi.

Yes, an undercover pergola braai in the enclosed courtyard, with fairy lights and seating for the whole group. Firewood for the braai and the indoor fireplace is provided complimentary. The indoor fireplace is for warmth only, not for cooking.

A games room with a pool table that converts to table tennis, a dartboard and a smart TV; a cosy loft cinema room; a large indoor fireplace; and board games and books in the upstairs twin bedroom.

Check-in is between 2pm and 10pm, and check-out is by 10am. If you'd like an early arrival, let us know and we'll do our best to arrange it.

Cape Creek Cottage is in the Langezandt security estate. Before you arrive, our local property manager will contact you for your vehicle registration numbers so your cars can be loaded onto the estate access system, and will send instructions for getting into the house. Please use only the main gate on Murex Street.

The area behind the house comfortably fits two cars, and up to four if needed. Extra cars can park in the driveway beside the house. Please don't block the road in front.

We're sorry, but no. The house sockets aren't rated for car charging.

Please empty the fridge, take out all rubbish, put back any furniture you've moved, and return the keys as instructed.

Yes. The walled courtyard has grass for playing, and there are children's books, board games and kids' tableware. A travel cot is available on request for children up to 36 months (please bring cot bedding).

Yes, we welcome up to three pets, by prior arrangement, at R900 per pet per stay. Please keep pets out of the bedrooms and off the furniture, and don't leave them alone in the house. Estate rules ask that pets are kept on a lead in open areas.

No, Cape Creek Cottage is non-smoking, inside and out.

Celebrations are welcome with our prior written agreement. Please contact us before booking.

Yes. Langezandt asks all guests to keep noise to considerate levels, keep to 30 km/h inside the estate, use only the Murex Street gate by car, and not bring fireworks, tents or caravans. We'll share the full estate rules before you arrive.

At 3077 Murex Street in Langezandt Fishermen's Village, a secure estate in Struisbaai on the Cape Agulhas coast. Coming from Bredasdorp, the Langezandt turn-off is on your left as you enter Struisbaai. The beach is a short walk through the estate and the grocery shop is a 2-minute drive. There's a map on our Contact page.

Langezandt beach is about a 5-minute walk, reached directly from within the estate. Struisbaai's main beach is 3 minutes' drive.

Struisbaai harbour, where you can meet the resident stingrays, is 5 minutes away. L'Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa and its lighthouse are 15 minutes away, and the Agulhas wine route is about 25 minutes. Southern right whales visit from roughly July to December. Our favourite things to do and places to eat are under Activities and Recommendations.

L'Agulhas for the southernmost tip of Africa, the lighthouse and the tidal pool. Bredasdorp for the Shipwreck Museum, Kapula Candles and the bigger shops. Elim, a Moravian mission village with its church, waterwheel and wine farms. Napier for antique shops, farm stalls and Napier Brewery. Arniston for the Kassiesbaai fishermen's cottages and Waenhuiskrans Cave. Further along, Pearly Beach, Franskraal and Gansbaai for quiet beaches, shark cage diving and whale-watching cruises.

Breakfast at Suidpunt Potpourri, climb the L'Agulhas Lighthouse, then walk to the Southernmost Tip of Africa and the Map of Africa monument. Follow the dirt road on to the Meisho Maru shipwreck, have lunch at Zuidste Kaap, Gavin's Trattoria or Crafty Pig, swim in the tidal pool, and end with a drink on the rooftop at Seagulls Pub & Grill.

Main Road in Struisbaai has gift, surf and fishing shops, among them Koekeloer Gift Shop, Cape Agulhas Surf Shop and Struisbaai Angling. For bigger shops, go to Bredasdorp.

The kitchen is well equipped for a private chef, and Oppi Stoep in Bredasdorp offers platters, cakes and lunches to order.

The OK grocer on Main Road in Struisbaai, with a home-bake stall (tuisnywerheid) at the same spot. Fish and More on Main Road sells fresh and frozen seafood and bait, and cleans and vacuum-packs your catch in peak season (book ahead). Catch Cook Market at the harbour sells fresh seafood and local produce.

The Tip of Africa Information Centre at the Caltex on Main Road, Struisbaai, or the tourist office at the L'Agulhas Lighthouse.

Southern right whales visit from roughly July to December and can often be seen from the beach. The best land-based spots are De Mond Nature Reserve (25 min), Agulhas National Park (35 min) and the dunes at Koppie Alleen in De Hoop (1 hr). Cape Sea Safaris runs whale-watching boat trips from Struisbaai Harbour; check dates and prices on their website.

The Spookdraai (Ghost) Trail in L'Agulhas (10 min), the Two Oceans Trail with 3, 4.5 or 10.5 km options (15 min) and the Rasperpunt Trail from the Meisho Maru shipwreck (17 min). Collect trail maps from the information centre.

Yes, on the Agulhas wine route near Elim. Black Oystercatcher (25 min, also craft beer), Zoetendal Vineyards (27 min) and Strandveld Vineyards (30 min) all offer tastings. Further afield: The Giant Periwinkle (45 min, by appointment) and Lomond Wine Estate near Gansbaai (50 min). The Berrio is currently closed for tastings.
